Welcome to my Kartra Review. I hope you will find it useful. I actively use Kartra for many aspects of my online business including email automation, landing pages, sales funnels and hosting online courses.
In this review, I cover the main Kartra features and discuss how Kartra stands up against other online marketing tools. This can be difficult as Kartra doesn’t really have a competitor that includes all this functionality bundled into a single package.
One thing Kartra has done is reduced my monthly software costs. What you can cut out by using Kartra is probably one of its biggest benefits.
Kartra Review – What is Kartra?
The first time I came across Kartra, I will be honest, I ignored it. I have been a happy Leadpages and Drip user for some time and didn’t feel I needed another piece of marketing software.
However, after the 8th email from Andy Jenkins to hit my inbox, my curiosity finally got the better of me and I opened one up and clicked the link. This took me to a video which included a presentation from Frank Kern. I checked out a few of the other videos and I was intrigued enough to sign up for the $1 trial and test it out. What the heck, I could afford to waste a dollar.
*If you want to see how little Kartra costs, visit my Kartra pricing page, where I take you through all the pricing options.
Quick disclaimer – this review does contain affiliate links to products that I recommend. I only recommend products that I have used and that I think could be beneficial to your business. I receive a small commission if you click on any of the links and sign up for the product or service, but that doesn’t increase the price and may sometimes include special discounts.
For those of you that haven’t heard of Kartra, it is an all-in-one online marketing platform that includes modules for:
- Email Marketing Automation
- Landing Page Creation and Hosting
- Video Hosting
- Online Course Hosting and Member management
- Membership Sites
- ShoppingCarts
- Affiliate Management
- Help Desk With Live Chat
- Integration Tools for Other Marketing Software
Sounds quite impressive, but it is any good?
Is it really “The Single Biggest Breakthrough In The History of Internet Marketing?”
That is what Andy Jenkins, Co-Founder of Kartra asks in his promo video about Kartra.
A bold claim. Let’s find out.
Kartra Review – First Impressions
I have been using and testing Kartra for some time now and I really do like it. Everything works well together. Each section follows a similar workflow. Whether you are adding a new landing page or setting up a new campaign, you just click on the green “+” button in the bottom right.
What I particularly like is the amount of “done for you” content that is included in the product. There is a wide range of landing page templates and an ever-growing list of prebuilt “Frank Kern” sales funnels for things ranging from List Building to Product Quick Launches.
Karta Review – What Can Kartra Replace?
This was the first question I asked after I went through the marketing material. It is a good way to measure how valuable Kartra could be to your business. I started to do the math.
This is the software I am already using or planning to use to manage my online marketing:
- Landing Page Software: Leadpages $25 per month
- Email Automation: Drip and ConvertKit $41 per month or $29 per month
- Form Creation: Drip, ConvertKit, and Leadpages all offer this
- Course Hosting: Teachable – $39 per month
- Shopping Cart: SamCart – $99 per month
- Affiliate Management: I have been testing iDev Affiliate. $39 per month
If you are just starting out, you may only need Landing Page and Email Automation software. If you are on a limited budget Leadpages $37 per month (or $25 per month if paid annually) and a free Drip account (free for up to 100 mailboxes), is my recommended route.
However, if you add up all the above products you are looking at a starting cost of almost $250 per month. Kartra Starter is $89 per month (paid annually)
If you have a larger email list then the price increases as shown in the table below.

Kartra Review – Landing Pages
This is the area where I have spent most of my time. I am a big fan of Leadpages, mainly because it is so simple to use. However, Kartra’s Landing Page Builder is equally easy to learn. I have put together a quick training video, which shows you how the Kartra Landing Page Builder works.

It is worth pointing out that this video is hosted in Kartra and uses Kartra’s video player to display the video, which brings me on to the next section.
Kartra Review – Video and Course Hosting
If you use videos in your marketing or you are looking for somewhere to host a video-based training course, Kartra has this built in. You can upload your videos into playlists and categories which makes them easy for you and your audience to find.
Again here is a quick video tutorial showing you how to upload a video to Kartra Video Hosting.

There are alternative course hosting platforms. Teachable is one I particularly like. As a standalone product, I would say Teachable has the edge over Kartra. It is designed for a purpose, and it shows.
Kartra Review – Adding Your Products For Sale
Another cool feature included with Kartra is the ability to set up products for sale. This can be products you deliver electronically like paid courses or physical products you ship to your customers.
You can set up pricing and recurring membership payments and integrate with forms and landing pages as part of a sales funnel. It is also possible to manage affiliates who will promote the product for you in exchange for a commission. Want to know more, please check out my video overview below.

This is just scratching the surface. Kartra has so many built-in features that it is difficult to cover everything out of the gate. What I have found is that is it all very easy to set up. You don’t need to pay $$$$ setup costs like with some other marketing platforms.
Please check back over the next few weeks as I will be adding more Kartra tutorials and reviews of the different Kartra modules. In the meantime, if you have seen enough to make you want to give Kartra a go click on this link to sign up for a $1 two week trial and get access to the launch promo Kartra discounts.
Conclusion
Kartra has the potential to really shake up the online marketing space. It completes with existing marketing platforms such as Infusionsoft, Clickfunnels, and Kajabi. It also combines the functionality of several standalone products as I presented earlier in this article.
When I believe it has the most to offer is in the small business space, especially businesses that have strayed away from online marketing because it appears overly complicated. The thought of learning several different software tools or, worse still, hiring experts in each, has put many business owners off.
Kartra, with its common interface and workflows, takes away much of this complexity. If you are a business owner, who is on the fence about getting into online marketing, I recommend you give Kartra a go. If you do, please drop me a note in the comments section and I will send you my “Online Marketing for Offline Businesses” course, free of charge.
